I remember the first time I went to this island, I came from Davao, the travel was like forever - more than 7 hours to be exact, yes there are many ways to be in this beautiful island, one is flying direct, and yes they have small airport for small passenger aircraft, you can also fly to Butuan or Cagayan and hop on bus going to Benoni Wharf.
Anyway, whatever suit you, it doesn't matter doesn't it? As long as you reach this destination and unfold its wonder.
As you might have read somewhere already, Camiguin Island, is known to the island "Born of Fire". It has seven volcanoes and several volcanic domes. Volcanic eruptions and land movements have created this spectacular island which is full of natural wonders and historical riches. Seven volcanoes and we will mentioned some here with brief description.
#10 Mt. Hibok - Hibok
An active stratovolcano in Camiguin that has a summit covered with loose ejecta and four small craters are nearby.
#9 Soda Water Swimming Pool
Its up to you if you want to try if it really tastes like soda - that according to locals, but by merely swimming here is like drinking soda when you are thirsty.
#8 Sto. Niño Cold Spring
It is a natural cold spring that flows down from Mt. Mambajao, and is filtered by layers of minerals from the mountain, so expect a naturally clean water - and of course cold.
#7 Burias Shoal
It is sprawled across slopes and steep walls where large schools of colorful fish swim all day - its a shoal so expect a lot of fishes.
#6 Guiob Church Ruins
It is one of the key structures from the Spanish colonial era and among the historic places to visit in Camiguin.
#5 Katibawasan Falls
It is a beautiful waterfall that feeds a clear rock pool surrounded by orchids, wild ferns, trees and boulders - don't ever missed to swim! go get that dad bod in the water!
#4 Tuasan Falls
This 82 feet high rapid waterfall entails a very scenic hike passing through the quaint Barrio Mainit - don't ever try going directly where the water is falling, just swim around it in a safer part.
#3 Sunken Cemetery
Sunken Cemetery was formed in the 1870s when a Camiguin volcano, Mt. Vulcan erupted causing the cemetery, the capital city and old town of Catarman, to sink - let that sink in, a sunken cemetery.
#2 Mantigue Island Nature Park
It is a protected marine sanctuary with four hectares of evergreen forest surrounded with white sandy beaches is ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
